The Vikuiti™ LCOS Optical Core comprises three polarizing beam splitters (PBS) and a color combiner that are lead and cadmium free. The component provides high transmission, contrast and a uniform image that is thermally stable. In addition, 3M PBS technology can operate with high performance at a lower engine f/# than can a conventional PBS, allowing more efficient, low cost light engines.
The Hollow Light Tunnel is used in projection systems to homogenize light from a point source by light entering one end of the tunnel, reflecting multiple times off of internal mirror surfaces, and exiting in a highly uniform state. This component is key in permitting a high quality, exceptionally uniform projection image.
